Pleasant Grove Office Building

The Pleasant Grove Office Building is a three-story open-space office concept developed by Russell Platt Architecture. The structure is made up of wood-frame construction on the second and third stories, and steel framing at the main level parking lot. The roof and floors consist of deep wood trusses cantilevered over steel beams. Complex structural engineering concepts were required to account for lateral design of the structure due to the cantilevers on the upper floors and roof and minimal wall panels. To maximize windows and allow for the unique shape of the structure, steel support beams and a steel moment frame were occupied on the lower levels to support the lateral design requirements of the structure.
